Koreans kit up the best telly tech of CES 2012 with a 4mm-thin OLED, Kinect-like controls and an 84-inch monster screen. While Samsung’s smart ecosystem impressed our brains, it was LG’s 55-inch OLED that grabbed our eyes, with white added to the usual RGB colour palette for incredibly tru-to-life pictures.
Most jaw flooring of all, the set is just 4mm across – half the width of a Galaxy S II. LG also showed off an 84-inch monster set with a 4K maximum resolution (that’s 4 times 1080p). Fo those whose lounges are a little more bijou, there is also 55 and 60-inch versions without the 4K resolution. The range offers dualcore processors, apps galore and suspiciously Kinect-like gesture and voice controls.
